What are some things in your daily life that can pull you toward fear or worry? There are so many situations or moments throughout the day that can lead to feeling to these emotions.
“Of course you feel that way,” is comforting and validating - in every emotion we experience, including fear and worry. We all experience fear, and with the world around us, the pain we see and read about or experience, it is no wonder we feel anxious. But if God is with us (even in our fear), we can experience peace, right?
In your fear, there are a few questions that can help shift you towards peace, like:
- What is my perspective of God?
- Do I believe God is disappointed in me, or is comforting me?
- Where am I looking for peace?
When the scripture writers tell us not to be afraid, the reminder is that we need God and that He is there for us. He does not scold us in our fear; He comforts us with truth.
